Bring on the nostalgia!
Do you remember The Archies? The song popped into my head today (all this talk about sugar). I looked it up on YouTube and was so happy it was there. I've never seen "them"...is it one guy? Anyway, I had the 45 when I was a little girl and would play it over and over and over just dancing around in my room. (sigh:)
{A 45 is a small record, usually a single from the bigger LP record (we used to listen to music on them before tapes). Tapes are what we had before cd's. (oh, I feel old).}
You forgot 8-tracks! I guess that's a kind of tape...
ReplyDeleteI used to watch the Archies Saturday morning cartoon and get the comic books at the drugstore. Talk about old.
I remember turntables! And the little disks you fit into forty fives to make them play on 78 (it was 78, wasn't it?) I had a Chopin album I learned to like because I was too lazy to change it... ended up getting hooked involuntarily.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was a little girl I had Eddie Rabbit's "I Love the Rainy Nights" on a 45. I played and played that thing until it wouldn't work anymore. Thanks for helping me remember that... I totally forgot! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteawww the good old days and 45's...I remember going grocery shopping with my mom and I would run over to pick out a new 45 to get lol. Loving your blog :) have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I was thinking about all the people out there that have never seem a 45 or played an album on a turntable, never know 8 tracks & more!!! I know that song too!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thx for the register at comment luv site. Seems to have corrected my posts but a bit ticked off at them for making people register for it to work! Thx to you for letting me know!!!
Believe it or not we still have a turntable squirreled away in a cabinet. My hubby has some records he just can't let go of!
