Binge-Free Beads, Family Wake-Up Walk, and Recipe

Seven days without binge-eating.

I've been waking my family up a half-hour earlier each day to do a wake-up walk.  We quickly throw on clothes, do a walk around the block (small one), come home, do 10 jumping jacks, 10 crunches, 10 push ups, and stretching.  It's been a nice way to get the day started.  We are more on-time.  The kids get some of their daily chores done earlier (usually done in afternoon after school).  I feel more patient and energetic.  It's not a huge workout, but it's something beneficial to all of us (ages 5 - 41).  I'm just hoping to instill good habits.

Here's a new recipe on "What Am I Supposed To Do With That?"

  1. Good job on your 7 days!! Your bracelet is pretty!

I think the Family Wake Up Walk is such a great idea. I'm trying to imagine how I could make it work with my family. How old are your kids (if you don't mind my asking)?

  2. I can just picture the "energy-charge" in all of you from doing this ..... such a great idea .... gets the morning started off by thinking "new day" instead of right away thinking "school day," "work day," "test day," etc. .... Smart gal! Good job!

  4. Jill- Hi! I have a ten-almost-eleven year old son (who is the hardest to light a fire under in the morning), a 9 y.o. daughter (self-reliant), and a 5 y.o. son (great attitude).

My 10 y.o. took too long to get ready this morning, so he's lost computer game privileges. He's not as into it...yet.

    Thanks Hershey Mama and Jody!

  5. Like the family wake up walk early idea. Gives you all a chance to scope out the sunrise, birds and other earlier morning critters that you might have missed. Congrats on 7 days binge free.
