Definitely Maybe

January 5 - My birthday

I said I'd be fit by 41, maybe 42. well, I'm 41. Not fit. It's gonna have to be 42.

That's okay because I only started this journey 2 1/2 months ago. I have years of ingrained bad habits to undo not to mentioned what damage I've done to my body through the years (lifetime).

I've loved blogging, gaining insight, inspiration, cheering each other on. There are AMAZING people in this community. I want to visit them all and read their stories and root for them.

I've noticed lately that hours have gone by while reading blogs. (I wonder if my compulsive blog-reading is at all related to my compulsive overeating???? YA THINK?!) I'm going to have to set a limit (like I'm really good with those, too). My new rules: No blogging first thing in the morning and must stop by 10 p.m. (Ironically, it's 11 p.m. as I write. I thought it was earlier than that. This is a time-pit. Must be wiser).

"Put your hands up in the air and walk away from the computer, and no one gets hurt."

But I think about you all and wonder how you are doing and you and you and you!

I've gained many ideas and inspiration, and it's time to implement them and seriously get going so I don't have to change my blog name to "Fit by 43 44 45 ..."

  1. It's been seven months since I started my journey and I'm only down 20 pounds. I don't say that to scare you, but to encourage you.

Keep up working on those issues, because you may just find that they are the walls holding you back from reaching your goals. You chip away at them and when they come down - watch out!! - so will the weight.

I feel like my walls have just come down and now the weight will too...if I can just get past PMS week again..it would decide to show up the first week I'm motivated, right. LOL

Hang in there! You can and you will do this!

  2. Oh, and happy (early) birthday. :)

Yea..and I'm still working at now spending too much time on the computer late at night, but it's already 10:04 and I still have some laundry to put away that's on my bed.

We'll have to work on this together. :)

p.s. What "ASU" did you graduate from?

  5. HAPPY BDAY!!!! It is never too late. You can do this!

Now this:"Put your hands up in the air and walk away from the computer, and no one gets hurt."

I laughed so hard!!!! I sit own to do blog work & although I get up & down to do things & use the bathroom, I can easily have spent 3-4hours on this blog stuff. I hear you! This is one area I have to re-evaluate for the new year!

    Have a wonderful day!!!!

  6. Happy Birthday!

I can relate to spending too much time reading blogs. Between blogging, facebook, e-mails and my MOM's mailing list it quickly adds up. Lately I find it hard to keep up with it all ;).

I'm glad you got some good shoes for exercising! I didn't even know there were places that fit shoes like that, very high tech! Good job on keeping up with the 5 at 5 challenge!

  7. Happy Birthday! I too have to make a concerted effort to limit my computer time. It's hard though - because I love to read, research, and keep up with everyone!

YAY for new shoes!! Let us know how they feel and rather or not they make a difference for your feet.

  8. I'm a big fan of action. You've probably already figured this out about me. =)

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I've met a bunch of cool people through Primal Stride (like you!) but I'm well aware of how the hours can slip away if I don't prioritize. It's a challenge and I've stayed up too late many times more than I'd like to admit to.

We'll get there. You won't have to change your blog name and I... well, I have a lot of people who will be sorely disappointed if I don't finish what I've started.

Best to you in this exciting new year of your life!

  9. Happy Birthday!

"Fitt-ER" is a concept I like. I'm not thin, but I've made more improvements in my body composition and health than I have for the last 18 years. I'm happier in my body and that's a wonderful thing.

I gotcha on the blog time. I've had to consciously limit it at times. Fascinating stuff and so inspiring, but there's a sweet spot, you know? The point of diminishing return!

    Here's to a wonderful year!
